One of my favourite golf courses in Ireland is Ardglass. The scenery along this County Down coastline is just stunning. The first tee box is situated in front of the 13th century castle clubhouse. These first five holes meander around the cliffs overlooking the Irish Sea, while these holes are the most dramatic there are other great holes such as the 11th and the 10th par three.
I have played Ardglass in all kinds of weather, from calm sunny days were you can see the Isle of Man and the beautiful Mournes, to wild, wet and windy, and I always want to return.
As well as being guaranteed a memorable golfing experience you can also be sure that the hospitality and food is just as great!
Ardglass is just thirty minutes along the coast from R.C.D. G.C. Newcastle and forty five minutes from Belfast. Green fees are very affordable and even better if you can catch an Open! Don’t miss out and I forgot to mention its also one of Rory’s favourites!!
