Ireland’s Chloe Ryan, Ireland’s sole participant, finished 64th after the qualifying rounds of the Spanish Amateur Championship at Pula in Mallorca.

In a field of 98 players, after an opening round of 85 she left herself an uphill battle to fight on day two. Although improving by 4 strokes, her 81 was still too shy of a pair of 79s which would have seen her into Friday’s matchplay round of 32.

France’s Shannon Aubert led the qualifiers after rounds of 73 and 74, 2 shots ahead of Jessica Vasilic (SWE), Patricia Sanz Bario (ESP) and overnight leader Luna Sobron Galmes (ESP).

Emily Pedersen beat Linnea Strom to win the Championship on Sunday after both recorded wins over Anysia Herbaut and Katerina Vlasinova resp in Saturday afternoon’s semi-finals.
