Ireland got off to a fantastic start in the Women’s Home Internationals when they beat England 6-3 at Aberdovey links in the first leg as hosts Wales beat Scotland 6.5-2.5
After sharing the morning foursomes 1.5-1.5, Ireland stepped up in the singles with wins for Maria Dunne, Mary Doyle, Jean O’Driscoll and Paula Grant, putting them in a great position before today’s matches. Olivia Mehaffey lost to Holly Muse 2&1 Chloe Ryan and India Clyburn halved their match. Wales had a great win over Scotland with a 5-1 finish in the singles. Megan Briggs was Scotland’s only winner in the afternoon matches.
