Emily Pedersen earned a well-deserved victory at the Bravo Tours Open by Enjoy Resorts, while playing in a male-dominated field on the ecco tour in Denmark.

Pedersen fired rounds of 66 and 67 to finish on 11-under-par and win by one stroke over Oliver Suhr at Smørum Golf Club.

Fellow LET tournament winner, Nanna Koerstz Madsen, tied for third with Rasmus Højgaard, Christopher Sahlström and Niklas Nørgaard Møller.

While Højgaard led after five holes in a thrilling final round, he opened the door with a double-bogey on the sixth hole. It turned into a duel between Pedersen and Suhr when he made an eagle on the tricky 16th and she made her only bogey of the two-day event on the same hole.

Pedersen gained the lead with a birdie on the short 17th hole and made a regulation par on the last to seal the win.

The 2015 Hero Women’s Indian Open winner and LET Rookie of the Year said: “It shows that all the work I put in is paying off. It’s been a tough few years, so it’s really nice to see that my game is improving and it feels great to win again.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a position where I’ve played for the win. I just had to get used to being a little nervous again, but that’s what we train for,” the 2017 European Solheim Cup player elaborated.

In a field of 82 players, there were nine female competitors. Amateurs Marie Lund-Hansen and Cecilie Finne-Ipsen tied for 23rd and 42nd respectively.
